Ricordea florida mushrooms can be distinguished from Ricordea yuma’s by the concentration of tentacles surrounding the mouth, Ricordea florida usually have no tentacles on the raised area directly around the mouth, they also usually have less tentacles that are larger and more bulbous than the R. yuma mushrooms.
Ricordea mushrooms grow to a reasonable size of about 6cm in diameter, they will multiply by very slowly moving across the rock and leaving a tiny fragment of themselves behind that grows into a new mushroom in a process known as pedal laceration.
Mushrooms are considered a relatively easy coral to keep so are suitable for reef keepers with any level of experience.
Ricordea florida mushrooms prefer moderate lighting and low flow.
