At last the new AI Blades are here, the latest LED offering from the lighting titans ‘Aqua Illumination’.
So in a nutshell, what are they all about?
AI Blade (For marine aquariums) come in two variations of colour, the Blade Grow and the Blade Glow.
The Blade Grow offers immense power in a thin package. Coral Grow features a LED mix that maximizes spectral peaks needed for coral photosynthesis. Early reports from customers are that the Blade Grow really packs a punch and that the light spread exceeds their expectations so that's a big box ticked!
The Blade Glow will fluoresce your tank and help your corals “pop”. Coral Glow features a LED mix that maximizes spectral peaks that showcase coral fluorescence. Ideal as a supplemental source of fluorescence that can be added to a Blade Grow or supplement your current lighting to find your “just right,” perfect combination.
SOLO
The beauty of Blade is its versatility. Used alone the Blade Coral Grow provides an excellent source of tuned light for your marine aquarium. Attractive and powerful, an adjustable but easy spectrum ensures great coral growth. Edgefield™ Optics delivers well mixed colour and super even spread while preserving the caustics that make your tank sparkle.
BETTER TOGETHER
Blade Coral Growth is designed for maximum PAR efficiency and Blade Coral Glow is designed for maximum fluorescence. Mix them together and get the best of both.
MOUNTING
The new lighting comes complete with slimline adjustable tank rests which sit on the rim of your tank. They’re super slimline and made from clear acrylic clearly designed to be aesthetically pleasing and unintrusive. More mounting options are due to be launched soon.
WATER RESISTANT
Blade is not only versatile but built to last in the harsh-environment of marine aquariums. Blade meets IP66 standards which indicate the highest protection against particles and a high level of protection against water.
SIMPLE BUILT-IN CONTROL
All AI devices include smart control as standard. Use the myAI® or Mobius apps on any iOS or Android device to easily set up or program your AI equipment.
FINAL THOUGHTS
The AI Blades seem to brilliantly fill a gap in the market, customers have always found it hard to find a high end slim line light to suit their needs when the aquarium is not so wide as it is long, many people simply felt that the lights on the market did not deal well with an aquarium say 36” long and 18” deep as they were having to buy two (expensive) lights which was over-kill but necessary because one was not enough.
The simple design, AI’s experience to ensure high powered perfectly coloured lighting and the easy to use ‘my ai’ APP make these an all round winner. They’re extremely easy on the eye too ;o)
