Discosoma mushrooms are a varied genus of mushrooms that can be found in hundreds of colour combinations and textures.
Considered to be easy yet desirable corals they’re suitable for both beginners and long time reef keepers alike.
Discosoma mushrooms can reproduce both sexually and asexually, the latter being the common method in aquariums. The asexual reproduction happens in a process called pedal laceration whereby the coral moves slowly across the substrate leaving tiny fragments of itself behind creating clones of themselves that over time grow and repeat the same process.
Like mushroom corals in general low to moderate light and low flow is preferred.
